Building a corporate website with Drupal 6.x
It has been a while since I posted but I just thought that I'd put down the experiences that we have had with Drupal 6.x.
Firstly I reviewed a number of CMS /Web Publication systems with the following criteria in mind:
1) Simple user experience e.g. good "word" style interface for putting in content
2) The ability to undertake SEO strategies
3) The ability to put in sign off chains to ensure that posted content is signed off by management
4) The ability to put in different content types
5) The ability to support blogs
The items reviewed were:
1) Drupal
3) Word Press
4) Joomla
As it happens Drupal was far and away the best (at the time of writing) and has provided a very nice platform for publishing our corporate website. It should be on the evaluation list for any SME or even large enterprise IMHO.
We were able to push ahead with rapid iterations of content, we jumped up the Google rankings on our key search terms and finally we get more than ten times the traffic daily than we used to get monthly.
All in all a good product.
Now, just a teaser for an upcoming post, I'm very into Apache Mina at the moment....more later

Hi, Matt. I wonder how Erlang's bit syntax would compare to using Apache Mina? ~David
